About the Artist

Beth Krusa, born in rural Illinois, United States, and currently based in St. Louis, Missouri, is a photographer renowned for her unique approach to evoking the subconscious. Growing up in lonely backwaters of the Illinois river, Krusa expressed her creativity in every medium available to her. She turned to photography after a college course taken on a whim ignited excitement from her professors and colleagues. Krusa went on to earn her Bachelor's in Fine Art Photography and later her Master’s. Beth Krusa continues to work with plastic lens film cameras and digital formats,

Krusa's photography invites viewers to engage in a dialogue with her work, exploring traces of people, implied associations, and enigmatic situations. Her intuitive approach, marked by chance and experimentation, suggests incomplete stories and faded dreams, leaving space for personal interpretation. Her images, imbued with a haunting beauty, evoke a sense of the ominous and the mysterious, inviting viewers to uncover hidden meanings and wonder.

Beth Krusa has exhibited her work in numerous galleries and publications, including Artica, the St. Louis Regional Arts Commission, Soulard Art Gallery, Urban Arts Collective, Kerr Center, and Monocle. She has taught workshops and college classes. Her work continues to captivate audiences with its surreal imagery and evocative power.
